Eugene-Springfield Fire swiftly responded to a grassfire incident along the shoulder of I-5 southbound, just before the Beltline exit in Eugene, OR
Eugene, OR – According to the Eugene-Springfield Fire Department officials, the fire ignited amidst a mix of relatively green grasses and dead vegetation, exacerbated by strong winds pushing its spread.
Despite these challenging conditions, firefighters managed to contain the blaze, which ultimately affected an area of approximately half an acre.
Coburg Fire District provided valuable assistance during the operation.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential for wildfires to ignite with minimal heat and wind.
It underscores the importance of remaining vigilant and proactive in fire prevention measures, especially during periods of heightened fire risk.
