The Eugene Springfield Fire responded to reports of a fire in a duplex situated in South Eugene
Eugene, OR – According to the statement, when first responders arrived on scene, Engine 15 from the South Hills station observed smoke emanating from one side of the dwelling, where an occupant was already endeavouring to quench a fire in the laundry room.
Without hesitation, crews promptly deployed a hoseline to fully extinguish the fire, conducted a thorough search of the structure to ensure all residents were safe, and meticulously inspected for any signs of fire spread into the walls and ceiling.
In a collaborative effort, the Eugene Police Department arrived to lend support in managing traffic control, while an ESF Deputy Fire Marshal commenced an investigation to ascertain the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
