Eugene man arrested after police encounter involving two juveniles
Eugene, OR – A 68-year-old Eugene man was arrested after police responded to a report involving two juveniles on Aug. 19.
Eugene police said officers responded at about 3:11 p.m. to the 1000 block of Maxwell Road, where they located two juveniles, ages 15 and 17, in the backseat of a vehicle with Jorge Luis Ochoa, 68, of Eugene.
Investigators with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit determined that Ochoa had met the juveniles at Washington Jefferson Park and offered them a ride to another location.
During the encounter on Maxwell Road, officers identified conduct that resulted in a criminal charge.
The two juveniles were transported to a local hospital for evaluation before being taken to their respective homes.
Ochoa was booked into the Lane County Jail on a charge of second-degree sexual abuse.
Eugene police said the investigation remains ongoing.
