Eugene, OR – Officers with the Eugene Police Department made multiple arrests after responding to a large and unruly party on March 14, 2026, along E. 14th Avenue between Patterson Street and Hilyard Street.

Police were dispatched around 1:30 p.m. after reports that a large gathering had spilled into the roadway. The crowd, made up primarily of people in their 20s, continued to grow throughout the afternoon and was eventually estimated at between 1,000 and 1,500 people. Partygoers filled open areas along E. 14th Avenue and extended about half a block toward Hilyard Street.

Residents reported several disturbances during the gathering, including individuals urinating in public and arguing with nearby residents. Authorities also received calls about intoxicated pedestrians walking in traffic and some people attempting to open the doors of passing vehicles. Emergency medical responders were called after a man fell and struck his head.

Eugene Police had already deployed a small team of Mobile Response Team officers for an unrelated event and redirected them to the scene as concerns about crowd behavior increased. Officers from the University of Oregon Police Department were also present, and additional support was provided by the Crisis Negotiation Team, Drone Team, and other officers.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the Crisis Negotiation Team began instructing the crowd to move out of the roadway. Police said the crowd offered minimal resistance, and no force requiring documentation was used.

Three individuals were arrested and taken to the Lane County Jail on charges including second-degree criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, interfering with police, open container violations, resisting arrest, and providing false information to police. During one arrest, a man sustained a minor cut to his head, and Eugene Springfield Fire evaluated him before he was transported to jail.

Police also responded to several parties taking place in the area. At a residence in the 600 block of E. 14th Avenue that appeared to be the largest source of activity, officers arrested six occupants for prohibited noise and cited them for an unruly gathering.
