ESF crews battle mobile home fire threatening neighboring home in North Eugene, contain blaze to one home
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a mobile home fire at the Filbert Grove Mobile Home Park in North Eugene on Saturday afternoon, with firefighters containing the blaze to the home where it started.
Just after 3 p.m. on Aug. 15, 2026, firefighters were dispatched to the park near Armitage Park following a report of a kitchen fire inside a mobile home.
Engine 5 from the Gateway Station arrived about five minutes later and found a double-wide mobile home heavily involved in fire. Flames were also threatening a neighboring home when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters were told that all occupants had safely evacuated the mobile home. Crews immediately began attacking the fire while also conducting a search of the structure to make sure no one remained inside.
Eugene Springfield Fire said confirming that everyone has evacuated remains an important part of its response, even when occupants or bystanders report that everyone has safely left the building.
According to the department, fire scenes can be chaotic, and firefighters must account for the possibility that someone could still be inside or that another person may have entered the structure to help someone escape.
Crews were able to contain the fire to the home where it originated. No damage was reported to neighboring homes, despite the flames threatening a nearby residence when firefighters arrived.
No injuries were reported.
Deputy fire marshals with Eugene Springfield Fire remained at the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
The department did not provide a cause for the fire in its initial report.
