Eugene, OR – According to the officials, the Visual Arts Week will reportedly take place from Sept. 27 to Oct. 6 at various locations throughout downtown Eugene.

This event features a range of exhibitions and activities, celebrating the arts in Eugene while providing a platform for creativity, experimentation, and dialogue.

Visual Arts Week kicks off with the closing reception of the 25th Annual Mayor’s Teen Art Show, which highlights the work of 42 young artists from 19 local schools. This show gives teenagers the chance to express themselves through visual arts.

The reception, featuring live music by Jake and the Hellcats, will be held on Sept. 27 from 5-7 p.m. at the Maude Kerns Art Center, located at 1910 E. 15th Ave.

Festivities continue on Sept. 28 with the Eugene BRiGHT Parade and AfterParty. Now in its second year, the parade will showcase illuminated human- and electric-powered entries as they move through downtown Eugene from 7-8 p.m., beginning and ending at the intersection of East Eighth Avenue and Pearl Street.

Spectators are encouraged to wear creative, light-themed outfits. After the parade, the family-friendly BRiGHT AfterParty will take place at the Farmers Market Pavilion from 8-11 p.m., featuring live and electronic music, dancing, food carts, and light-based artwork.

In addition, several downtown galleries will display special exhibits throughout the week, catering to Eugene’s celebration of visual arts.
