Eugene Police motorcycle officers train with agencies across Oregon for motorcade operations
Eugene, OR – Eugene Police Department motorcycle officers joined riders from law enforcement agencies across Oregon for motorcade training focused on precision riding, teamwork, and coordination.
The department said the training, conducted by its Traffic Safety Unit, was designed to strengthen the skills officers need when performing organized motorcycle escorts and supporting large-scale events.
While the coordinated movements may have looked like a scene from an action movie, police said the exercises were focused on safety and preparation rather than performance.
The training allowed motorcycle officers to practice synchronized riding techniques, communication, and teamwork required for safely escorting dignitaries, assisting with community events, and responding to situations where coordinated motorcycle operations are needed.
Eugene Police said the training helps officers maintain a high level of readiness and ensures they can work effectively alongside other agencies throughout Oregon.
The department emphasized that motorcade operations require more than riding skills, as officers must rely on planning, coordination, and trust between team members to safely complete their assignments.
The Traffic Safety Unit regularly participates in specialized training to improve public safety and enhance the department’s ability to support community events and regional law enforcement operations.
