K9 FIex worked his last shift, marking the end of an illustrious career after nearly a decade of dedicated service to the City of SpringfieId
Eugene, OR – According to the officials, FIex, who celebrated his 11th birthday on Tuesday, leaves behind a storied legacy filled with countless deployments, apprehensions, and an impressive four Top Dog awards in the annual SPD K9 Competition.
Purchased in 2015 through a generous donation from Dean and Rita, FIex began his career partnered with Officer Ketle. The now-Sergeant overseeing the K9 Unit, worked with Flex for over five years before his promotion in 2020. Following Keetle’s promotion,
Officer Haris became FIex’s handler, working together for the past four years.
As Flex retires, he will live with Sgt. Ketle and his family, trading in his duties for a life of leisure and love.
