EPD arrests 18-year-old in 2024 Broadway shooting after joint investigation with Springfield Police
Eugene, OR – Eugene Police have arrested 18-year-old Damyen Lee Marshall Peterson in connection with a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of November 1, 2024, at 515 Broadway.
The incident took place around 1:30 a.m., when shots were fired as individuals were leaving an apartment complex. No injuries were reported.
Peterson was identified as the primary suspect in February 2025, following collaborative investigative efforts between the Eugene Police Department (EPD) and Springfield Police Department (SPD). At that time, EPD issued an “attempt to locate” notice in the system.
On the morning of July 28, 2025, Springfield Police located Peterson. He was transported to EPD headquarters by Eugene patrol officers and later lodged at the Lane County Jail. Charges include two counts of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and three counts of Reckless Endangering.
Eugene Police expressed appreciation to the Springfield Police Department for their assistance in the case.
