First responders appreciation BBQ brings community and local agencies together in Springfield

Eugene, OR — First responders and their families gathered Thursday at 3188 Gateway Loop in Springfield for the First Responders Appreciation BBQ, an event dedicated to honoring those who serve and protect the community.

The event, which runs until 7 p.m., welcomed both active and retired first responders along with their families. Organized with the participation of Eugene Police and other local agencies, the BBQ featured opportunities for the public to meet officers, explore specialty law enforcement equipment, and connect with members of multiple emergency services.
