Eugene Springfield Fire crews simulated wildfire at Bertelsen Nature Park

Eugene, OR – Per reports, the Eugene Springfield Fire’s A-Shift Battalion 2 crews conducted a simulated wildfire at Bertelsen Nature Park.
These full-scale drills, scheduled throughout June, aim to prepare firefighters for potential wildfire scenarios in target hazard areas.
The training includes practicing progressive hose lays, extending from hundreds to thousands of feet, mobile attack strategies, and water supply operations.
Each shift and battalion will participate in these exercises, enhancing the readiness and response capabilities of the department in combating wildfires.
