Eugene, OR – According to the state officials, Governor Tina Kotek has issued an order for all flags at Oregon public institutions to be flown at half-staff in accordance with 4 U.S.C. 7m and the President’s Proclamation on Memorial Day, which falls on Monday, May 27, 2024.
The flags will be lowered from 12:01 am until noon on the same day.
In a statement, Governor Kotek expressed the solemnity of Memorial Day, emphasizing the importance of honoring all heroes and fallen soldiers, and keeping them and their families in our hearts with the deepest gratitude.
She reaffirmed Oregon’s commitment to honoring those who have bravely served, recognizing their fearlessness and sacrifice in safeguarding our country.
