Eugene police join community at 5th annual Oregon Aloha Festival

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department joined community members at the 5th annual Oregon Aloha Festival held Aug. 21–22 at Alton Baker Park.

The department said its recruiters and members of the Community Engagement Team attended the festival, which brought together vendors, food and activities celebrating Pacific Island cultures.

The two-day festival featured live music, cultural performances, dance, food, artisan vendors and family-friendly activities.

The Oregon Aloha Festival is organized as a free community event highlighting Pacific Island traditions and culture, including those of Hawaiʻi, Samoa, Tonga and Fiji.

The Eugene Police Department used its participation to connect with residents outside of traditional law enforcement settings, with recruiters and members of its Community Engagement Team available during the event.

The festival returned to Alton Baker Park for its fifth annual celebration, continuing an event that has grown into a community gathering centered on Pacific Island culture, food, music and local participation.
