Eugene police arrest five individuals for DUII over the weekend
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department arrested five individuals for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) following multiple incidents over the weekend.
On October 10 at 8:43 p.m., officers stopped a Ram pickup near Royal Avenue and North Danebo Avenue after observing it exit The Keg without stopping and accelerate rapidly. The 46-year-old driver, Jermaine Ignatious Richards, was arrested and cited in lieu of custody for DUII.
On October 11 at 5:18 p.m., a crash on N. Delta Highway near Valley River Center involved a Toyota 4Runner rear-ending a Toyota Matrix. The 26-year-old driver of the 4Runner, Jordan Hurtado of Salem, was arrested and charged with DUII and Reckless Endangering.
Later that evening at 7:36 p.m., a head-on collision at N. Delta Highway and Ayres Drive involved a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Honda Accord. The 43-year-old driver of the Accord, Brandis Nicole Zaring, was arrested on charges including DUII, Reckless Endangering, and Reckless Driving.
On October 12 at 1:22 a.m., a Dodge Ram 1500 was observed driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 North. The 44-year-old driver, Mark Thomas Pyle, was arrested for DUII after a short pursuit. Shortly after, at 2:10 a.m., a red Honda Civic was stopped following a pursuit from West 7th Avenue onto eastbound I-105. The 19-year-old driver, Jobany Facundo Murillo, was cited for DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, speeding, and Minor in Possession violations.
Police said all arrests followed thorough investigations and highlighted the dangers of impaired driving on Eugene roadways.
