Man arrested for disorderly conduct following incident at E. 11th Avenue building

Eugene, OR – On the morning of April 23, 2025, at approximately 8:21 a.m., Eugene Police responded to a distressing situation at 98 E. 11th Avenue, where a 43-year-old man was reportedly inside a bathroom, armed with a firearm and threatening self-harm.
Upon arrival, authorities quickly evacuated the building to ensure the safety of other occupants. Eugene Police SWAT teams were called to the scene to assist in the operation.
After a tense standoff, the man complied with police orders and exited the building at 9:21 a.m. He was promptly taken into custody without further incident.
The man was transported to the Lane County Jail, where he was booked on charges of disorderly conduct. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the situation was resolved peacefully.
Eugene Police thanked the community for their patience and cooperation during the incident. The department also acknowledged the swift and professional response of the SWAT team, which played a critical role in ensuring a safe resolution.
The police department emphasized that the priority throughout the operation was the safety of all individuals involved, and they would continue to assess and respond to situations like these with the utmost attention to public well-being.
