Fire crews responded to fire near 15 Walis St, no injuries reported
Eugene, OR – Per reports, the Eugene Springfield Fire Department crews responded to a fire at a homeless camp in West Eugene on the afternoon of July 18.
Fire crews were alerted to a dark smoke column and a possible brush fire near 15 Walis St at approximately 1:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered an encampment burning near the railroad tracks, with flames spreading to adjacent brush.
The fire was quickly contained by the responding teams, and no injuries were reported.
This incident remains under investigation.
