New Orleans, LA – According to the police officials, the 23-year-old grandson, later identified as CoIby, was taken into custody and later charged with first-degree murder (2 counts) after he reportedly killed his grandpa, CarIey, and grandma, BeverIy. The fatal shooting occurred on Wednesday at his granddad’s home. Prosecutors also said the suspect was also charged with aggravated battery and felon in possession of a firearm.

On Wednesday, the 911 caller told the dispatcher that their neighbor, later identified as CoIby, reportedly arrived at their residence and reportedly told them that he shot his family members to death. The responding officers arrived at the victim’s home, only to find both victims with life-threatening injuries. The suspect’s grandpa was pronounced dead at the scene, and his grandmother was pronounced dead at the hospital, shortly after arriving.

During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the grandson reportedly waited with his neighbor for the deputies to arrive on scene. During an interview with investigators, the 23-year-old man reportedly confessed to shooting the victims.

Sheriff Jason reportedly said that the 23-year-old man ‘has been in and out of jail and had some problems with the law. The Sheriff also said that he ‘struggled with some mental health issues and some drug abuse.’ The Sheriff’s Department has not revealed a possible motive for the murders. The 23-year-old man is being held without bond.
