Local man sentenced to life in the custody of the Oregon State Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole for 25 years

Eugene, OR – According to the Eugene Police Department officials, the defendant, Jaisi Savath, was found guilty at the conclusion of a jury trial of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The victim in the case, 32-year-old Stephen Forrest, worked at the 7-Eleven at 590 E. Broadway, where the shooting took place on September 2, 2023.
