EPD: 28-year-old man arrested, charged with unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm after shooting inside home on W. 37th Avenue

Eugene, OR – According to the police officials, this incident occurred right before 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
It happened in the 200 block of W. 37th Avenue.
Eugene Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.
During one of the calls, the 28-year-old man, later identified as William Friend, reported shots had been fired.
When officers contacted Friend, he appeared to be delusional, reporting people around the house with guns, who were shining lasers into the windows.
Friend was detained for safety. Another man was located inside the home uninjured.
After an investigation, officers found that Friend had discharged a firearm inside the house multiple times. Officers searched for the firearm and were initially unable to locate it, however it was recovered later in the day and seized.
