Man told his family member that he didn’t deserve the plate of food he was carrying before pushing the younger man, who then restrained him and struck him in the ribs several times, lacerating his spIeen and killing him; charges
Florida – A Florida man, identified as 19-year-old Jullien, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including manslaughter, in connection with the death of his parent, 45-year-old Frances, last month. The fatal incident occurred at their home following a physical altercation.
Authorities responded to a 911 call on January 19 reporting a man in need of medical assistance. The victim was transported to the hospital, where medical staff discovered internal bleeding caused by a laceration from a broken rib. Despite efforts to save him, he later died. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide, determining that the injuries were consistent with blunt force trauma.
Investigators learned that the altercation began when the victim confronted the younger man while he was carrying food to his room. The victim reportedly told him he did not deserve the food because he was not working. Despite this, the younger man continued toward his room, at which point the victim allegedly pushed him.
In response, the younger man put the victim in a headlock and punched him multiple times in the ribs. The confrontation ended when the victim’s girlfriend intervened, separating the two. Shortly after, from inside his room, the younger man heard the victim’s girlfriend calling for help and found the victim unresponsive. He then called 911.
Authorities said the 19-year-old has not been cooperative with the investigation and has declined to speak without a lawyer. He remains in custody on a $50,000 bond, with his next court appearance scheduled for March 25.
