Eugene Police Department arrests 50-year-old man after DUII crash involving truck and trailer on I-105
Eugene, OR – A 50-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence after a single-vehicle crash involving a truck and trailer on Interstate 105 in Eugene, according to the Eugene Police Department.
Police said officers responded at approximately 6:42 a.m. on July 7 after callers reported a crash involving a Dodge Ram towing a flatbed trailer on eastbound I-105 near the Country Club Road exit.
The crash damaged a guardrail and caused a reader board power control box to become dislodged from its concrete base. A caller told authorities the driver appeared to be potentially intoxicated and had taken the driver’s keys away before officers arrived.
The Oregon Department of Transportation responded to the scene to address the damaged guardrail and related roadway issues.
Eugene Police contacted the driver, identified as 50-year-old Jason Andrew Joseph, and conducted a sobriety test. Following the investigation, Joseph was taken into custody at approximately 7:26 a.m.
Police arrested Joseph on suspicion of DUII and reckless driving. He was also cited for failure to drive within lane.
The investigation into the crash was handled by the Eugene Police Department, and no additional injuries were reported.
