Oregon hosts free July webinar series to promote disability rights, access, and inclusion
Oregon – In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a free weekly webinar series will be held every Tuesday in July, featuring conversations with disabilities advocates, experts, and influencers.
The webinars aim to share the latest information on educational and employment access, challenge perceptions about disabilities, and explore ways to remove barriers to inclusion.
The schedule includes:

July 8: Striving for educational access and equity for students with disabilities

July 15: Working toward equal access employment for people with disabilities

July 22: Hannah and Shane Burcaw, YouTube hosts of Squirmy and Grubs, discussing changing perceptions about disabilities

July 29: Oregon’s journey to accessibility and removing barriers
Hosted by the Oregon Disabilities Commission (ODC), Oregon Department of Human Services, Northwest ADA Center, and Disability Rights Oregon, the series runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pacific Time and is open to the public.
Mark King, Chair of the ODC, emphasized the importance of the ADA anniversary as a time to reflect on progress and renew commitment to accessibility and equity for people with disabilities in Oregon.
The webinars will be fully accessible, featuring Spanish translation, captioning, and American Sign Language interpretation. Those needing accommodations can contact [email protected].
