Police seek suspect after Eugene church vandalized, thousands in damages reported

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department is investigating a burglary and vandalism incident at Wesley United Methodist Church on Oakway Road, where extensive damage was discovered early Tuesday morning.
Authorities say the church was broken into overnight, resulting in thousands of dollars in damage to music equipment and religious items. Excrement was also left in the worship area.
Police recovered some of the church’s belongings on Oakway Road near St. Andrews Drive, just south of the church.
Surveillance footage captured a person exiting the building at approximately 5:30 a.m. on April 1.
Investigators are asking residents along Oakway Road to check their home security cameras for any footage of the individual.
