Indiana – A Indiana woman, later identified as 36-year-old Ammanda, and her partner, later identified as 41-year-old Jeffry, were taken into custody and later charged with neglect of a dependent after they reportedly admitted to getting drunk and passing out at their home while the the woman’s child was at the hospital. According to authorities, the mom and her partner reportedly refused to pick the woman’s child after the girl went to the hospital on her own and was admitted for a mental health evaluation check after having an argument with her mom.

The investigation process began last week after the hospital social worker called the authorities and reported that the child’s mom, who according to the worker sounded like she was lntoxicated, refused to pick her child from the hospital. During the investigation process, authorities learned that the child, 13, went to the hospital and was admitted for a mental health evaluation check following an argument with her mom, local news outlet WFIE reported.

Shortly after, hospital staff tried to call the girl’s parents, but the woman and her partner (SEE PHOTO) reportedly hung up on them. Several hours later, the social worker called 911 and told the dispatcher that the conversation with the girl’s parents was not easy and at one point, the girl’s mom reportedly said that ‘she’s not dealing with this s—t tonight’ before hanging up on the worker.

Indiana authorities took both parents into custody the following day. The mother and her partner were released on bond and prohibited from consuming alcohol and have contact with the child. During an interview with investigators, the child’s mom reportedly said that the hospital staff never contacted her regarding her child. The woman also said that her child bit her during their argument earlier in the day.
