Jacksonville, FL – According to the police officials, the 37-year-old man, later identified as Jonh, was arrested and later charged with first-degree murder while engaged in burglary and armed burglary in connection with his mom’s death. Police officials say the man killed his mom by stabbing the woman to death. First responders rushed at the victim’s home only to pronounce her dead at the scene. During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the son broke into the victim’s house through the animal door so he can steal something from the woman. The man, who is reportedly addicted to drugs, became angry there was nothing in the home he deemed worthy to steal. The son then grabbed a knife and walked into his parent’s room where he stabbed the woman, 64-year-old JuIie to death. Both children that were present in the home then heard the woman screaming for help.
The woman reportedly begged her son for help. Sheriff Chad told local news outlets that the son reportedly had a history of entering his mother’s home without permission. The man usually breaks into his parent’s home and steal anything he can get. According to the Sheriff, the much older woman reportedly took care of the defendant’s child since she was born because he’s been in and out of jail since for the last 10 years.
Shortly after he killed his mom, the man fled the scene. He was arrested several hours later.
