Eugene police arrest 30-year-old man after neighbor dispute over $20 ends in stabbing
Eugene, OR – Eugene police arrested a 30-year-old man Tuesday night after a dispute over $20 allegedly led to a stabbing at an apartment building on Oak Street.
Officers responded at approximately 9:41 p.m. on October 27 to the 2900 block of Oak Street after receiving a report that a man had been stabbed by his neighbor.
Police identified the suspect as Christian Chase, 30. According to investigators, the victim and his girlfriend had gone to Chase’s apartment to ask him to repay $20 he allegedly owed the victim.
An argument began, and the victim and his girlfriend returned to their own apartment. Police said Chase then approached the couple near their front door and stabbed the victim.
The victim suffered a minor injury and did not require transportation to a hospital.
Chase was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail on a charge of attempted second-degree assault, according to the Eugene Police Department.
