39-year-old man arrested, charged with menacing after threatening participants at PRIDE event in Kesey Square
Eugene, OR – According to the police officials, the 39-year-old man, later identified as Timothy Langer, was arrested Saturday morning.
Eugene Police Department officers arrested the man for disorderly conduct and making threats at a PRIDE event in Kesey Square.
The event, which included a rally and parade to Alton Baker Park, was disrupted when the 39-year-old man began using homose-ual slurs and threatening participants.
Witnesses reported that Langer escalated his behavior by yelling at and chasing people before heading north on Willamette Street.
Officers from the Eugene Police Traffic Safety Unit, Downtown Team, and Mobile Response Team were already in the area and quickly intervened.
They located Langer and, after developing probable cause, arrested him.
Langer was transported to Lane County Jail, where he was charged with Menacing and Disorderly Conduct – Bias. The incident occurred during the early hours of the PRIDE festival, which continued as planned after the disruption.
