Los Angeles, CA – According to the court documents, the 60-year-old defendant, later identified as Stteven, was found guilty of multiple charges, including first-degree murder, t-rture, assault with semiautomatic weapon, arson and other charges in connection with the death of a man who reportedly helped him when his vehicle broke down last year. The victim was reportedly shot in the back several times before the defendant lit his body on fire and hitting him with a metaI bar.

Prosecutors claim the fatal incident occurred in March 2022, following an argument over the victim’s, 47-year-old Jlmmy, stolen motorbike. According to the court documents, one day before the victim was shot to death, the victim’s wife reportedly said that she heard the garage door of their home open and then the sound of a motorbike start and drive off. They went outside and saw the defendant’s car in their driveway and their motorbike gone.

The family then called the defendant, asking him to return the motorbike. When he did not bring it back, the victim and a friend went to defendant’s home. The victim then walked up the driveway, while his friend turned his truck around. Shortly after, the victim was shot four times from behind. The defendant then lit the victim’s body on fire and hit him with a metal bar.

The defendant’s lawyer reportedly argued that his client acted in self-defense after the victim confronted him and pulled a gun. But, authorities say that no gun was found near the victim. Shortly after the brutaI murder, the defendant ran away and was arrested miles away. According to the court documents, the defendant faces 25 years to life in prison when he is set to be sentenced on September 16.
