Home destroyed following structure fire on Country Lane, no injuries reported

Eugene, OR – According to the fire officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a second alarm house fire on Country Lane in Northeast Eugene.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire emanating from the garage and the rear of the residence.
Due to the intensity of the fire and the high temperatures, additional resources were called to the scene.
Firefighters worked diligently to contain the flames and prevent further damage to the property. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Crews remained on scene for an extended period, conducting overhaul operations to ensure all hot spots were extinguished and to prevent rekindling.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by local authorities.
