Eugene, OR – According to the statement, Umpqua Public Transportation District and South Lane Wheels have created the Lane-Douglas Connector, a transportation service that makes stops between the two cities.
They created the project to target veterans, but the route is also open to the general public. The stops include the Eugene VA, the Roseburg VA, the Cottage Grove Walmart and the Ray’s grocery store in Drain.
The route runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Walk-up rides are also available; however, but it’s better to reserve a ride ahead of time due COVID-19 limitations.
Rides are free right now during their pilot period. They will eventually change the general public a fare, but veterans will continue to ride for free.
