ODFW is seeking a new member to represent wild fish advocates on the Oregon Hatchery Research Center Board, officials say
Eugene, OR – According to the statement, the Oregon Hatchery Research Center Board is a cooperative endeavor of ODFW and Oregon State University.
The center’s mission is to be an internationally recognized leader in fisheries science, conducting research to define the mechanisms that may create differences between hatchery and wild salmonids, recommending strategies to manage those differences, and educating Oregonians about the benefits, risks, roles, and performance of hatcheries in fisheries augmentation and conservation.
The Board is charged with advising the OHRC Director on OHRC operations, budget and research priorities.
The OHRC Board includes 12 members representing a variety of groups including wild fish advocates.
