Man arrested on warrant after single-vehicle crash on W. Amazon Drive
Eugene, OR – A man was arrested after a single-vehicle crash early in the morning on September 14 in the 4000 block of W. Amazon Drive.
At 4:17 a.m., callers reported that a Dodge Charger had struck a power pole and caught fire. The crash sheared the pole from its base. When Eugene Police officers arrived, they found the driver, 25-year-old Marcus Alann Johnson, injured. Eugene Springfield Fire crews also responded and transported Johnson to a local hospital.
An officer accompanied paramedics during transport because Johnson had a confirmed felony warrant. The section of W. Amazon Drive from E. 38th Avenue to Fox Hollow Road was closed while EWEB replaced the damaged pole.
After receiving medical attention, Johnson was taken to the Lane County Jail. He was charged with reckless driving and booked on the outstanding warrant. He was also cited for driving while suspended.
