Eugene Springfield Fire trains firefighters ahead of shift schedule changes
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Springfield Fire Department reported that 19 firefighters began a three-week academy to train as fire engineers.
The training is part of the department’s preparations for the new 24/72 shift schedule starting in January.
ESF officials noted that significant efforts have been underway across the organization to recruit and train new members, develop and promote existing staff, and implement system-level changes to support the upcoming shift changes for fire and EMS personnel.
