Eugene Springfield Fire responds to vehicle fire on I-105 near Mohawk exit

Eugene, OR – On Saturday morning, Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a vehicle fire on I-105 Eastbound near the Mohawk exit in Springfield.
Firefighters arrived to find a pickup truck with flames in its bed, which was carrying tires.
Engine 5 from the Gateway Station, along with Tower 3, handled the initial response as Engine 4 was already committed to another call.
Crews successfully contained the fire to the vehicle, preventing further damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
