Eugene, OR – Last week, Eugene Springfield Fire Engine 6, responding from the Willakenzie Station to a medical call, came across a vehicle fire on westbound Beltline.
The vehicle was stopped outside of the travel lanes, but traffic was affected as crews worked to extinguish the fire.
A battalion chief and a water tender were also dispatched to assist. Engine 6 quickly brought the fire under control, and no injuries were reported.
The department reminded drivers to slow down and move over as far as possible when approaching incidents along the lanes of travel to provide a safe working area for emergency personnel.
