Eugene, OR – Eugene police arrested a woman after she was reportedly found asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle at a four-way stop, with officers later finding fentanyl, methamphetamine and other drug-related items in her vehicle.

A 9-1-1 caller reported that the driver was asleep behind the wheel while stopped at the intersection of East 14th Avenue and Hilyard Street. The caller was able to wake the driver, but the vehicle remained stopped at the intersection.

Officers arrived and located the vehicle parked in a nearby parking lot.

The driver was identified as 31-year-old Rheianna Antonia Christi Contreras of Eugene. Contreras told officers she was not asleep at the intersection and said she was experiencing car trouble.

An officer then spotted a partially smoked marijuana joint near the center console. Contreras told police she had smoked marijuana that morning.

Officers administered field sobriety tests, and Contreras was ultimately arrested for DUII.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located fentanyl, marijuana dab pens, dab sticks and pipes. Methamphetamine was also found in Contreras’ coat pocket.

Police attempted to collect a urine sample from Contreras, but she initially gave an officer a cup containing clear, cold water instead. She later provided a urine sample for testing.

Contreras was also evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. Police said the evaluation found her to be impaired by cannabis, narcotic analgesics and CNS stimulants.
