Eugene Springfield Fire crews practiced deploying 50-foot Bangor ladder
Eugene, OR – A-Shift crews from Eugene Springfield Fire Stations 2 and 10 practiced deploying the 50-foot Bangor ladder.
Weighing 300 pounds, the ladder requires coordinated effort from two crews for proper deployment.
The Bangor ladder is used in areas where ladder trucks cannot operate due to overhead obstructions.
It was invented in 1875 in Bangor, Maine, which is how it got its name.
