A Eugene man has been sentenced after being arrested for a pair of armed robberies in 2019 that happened in Eugene, including one in which the suspect fired a shot in the direction of a gas station employee.
Clay Bradley Nysten, 32, of Eugene, was arrested by Eugene Police on October 31, 2019, for Robbery in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
This week, he was sentenced on the charges, in addition to several charges from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office that included an additional robbery, multiple burglaries and theft charges.
On June 9, 2019, Eugene Police responded to the first report of an armed robbery at the Mobil gas station at 367 Highway 99 North.
“The suspect demanded money and fired a gun in the direction of the employee inside the location near the office,” police at the time said. “The suspect left without cash.”
Just after midnight the following morning, officers responded to another report of an armed robbery, this time at Jasper’s Deli, 1504 Coburg Road.
Nysten received a combined sentence for 120 months in prison.
