Customer dies after he compIained about his meaI order when an employee cIimbed out the window following a comment the victim made towards him, only to then pull out a firearm and kiII him: police
Florida – A Florida drive-thru estabIishment empIoyee, 23-year-old EIijah, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree premeditated murder after allegedly fatally shooting 40-year-old WesIey during a dispute over a food order last week.
Last week, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at the drive-thru estabIishment. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to the regional medical center, where he later died from his injuries.
According to court documents, the altercation began when the victim complained about his food order and requested to speak with a manager. Surveillance footage from the restaurant shows the shooter climbing out of a drive-thru window and approaching the victim at the front of the establishment.
Witnesses reported that during the confrontation, the victim reportedly made a derogatory comment towards the shooter, prompting the younger man to pull out a small handgun and shoot the victim in the chest.
Following the shooting, the defendant fled the scene on foot. He was later apprehended hiding beneath a stairwell at a local hotel. During his arrest, the shooter reportedly told officers that he has a weapon and inquired multiple times about the defendant’s condition.
The 23-year-old was arrested and booked into the county jail on May 22, 2025. He faces a charge of first-degree premeditated murder with a firearm. A judge denied him bond during his initial court appearance.
This tragic event underscores the potential for conflicts to escalate rapidly, even over seemingly minor issues. The legal proceedings against the 23-year-0ld shooter will continue as authorities seek justice for the victim and his family.
