City of Eugene outlines closures and adjusted schedules for Independence Day on July 4

Eugene, OR – In observance of Independence Day, the City of Eugene has announced closures and adjusted schedules for Friday, July 4. While many public offices and facilities will pause operations, essential services will continue without interruption.
All administrative offices, including City Hall, will be closed for the day. Eugene Public Library branches and their outside return slots will also be closed. Community centers across the city will not be open.
City pools will operate on modified holiday schedules. Amazon Pool will offer lap swim from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and recreational swim from 1:45 to 4:30 p.m. Echo Hollow Pool will have lap swim and On Your Own Fitness from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., followed by recreational swim from 1:45 to 4:30 p.m. Sheldon Pool will be open for lap swim and fitness from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with recreational swim from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Emergency services including police, fire, and medical response will be fully operational. The main police station on Country Club Road will remain open, while the Downtown Public Safety Station will be closed. However, downtown officers will still be on patrol in the area. Fire and EMS administration offices, including ambulance billing, will be closed.
City-managed parking garages, lots, and on-street meters will be free for the holiday, with the exception of the train depot surface lot. On-street parking restrictions in the Arena District near Matt Knight Arena will remain in effect as posted.
Public Works street repair crews will not be working on July 4, but essential health and safety services such as regional wastewater treatment will continue as usual.
The Eugene Airport will remain open for all flights and passenger services. However, its administrative offices will be closed. Travelers can visit www.flyEUG.com or call 541-682-5544 for flight information.
The Spay and Neuter Clinic will be closed both Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4.
Unless otherwise noted, all City of Eugene offices and facilities will resume normal operations on Monday, July 7. The next scheduled holiday observed by the city is Labor Day on Monday, September 1.
