Eugene police invite families to free Halloween ‘Candy with a Cop’ event featuring trick-or-treating, police vehicles and first responders
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department is inviting families to a free Halloween event on Sunday, Oct. 25, where children can collect candy, meet first responders and explore police vehicles during an afternoon of trick-or-treating.
The event, called “Candy with a Cop: Trunk or Treat,” will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Marquis Eugene Assisted Living and Memory Care, located at 555 Country Club Road in Eugene.
The event is being organized by the Eugene Police Department in partnership with Marquis Eugene and is designed to give children and families a chance to celebrate Halloween in a fun, welcoming environment while connecting with local public safety personnel.
Children are encouraged to arrive in their Halloween costumes and bring candy buckets to collect treats. Families will also have the opportunity to meet police officers and other first responders and get a closer look at police vehicles.
Eugene Police Patrol officers, Records Section staff, Volunteers in Policing and other department personnel are expected to participate. The University of Oregon Police Department and the Eugene-Springfield Fire Marshal will also join the event to hand out treats and interact with community members.
The department described the gathering as a family-friendly afternoon focused on costumes, candy and community engagement.
Organizers are also providing designated parking at nearby businesses to accommodate attendees. Parking will be available at PenFed Credit Union, located at 400 Country Club Road, with visitors asked to use only spaces marked for PenFed. Additional parking will be available at Women’s Care at 590 Country Club Road and Willamette Valley Cancer Institute at 520 Country Club Road.
The Eugene Police Department thanked the businesses for making parking available to help support the event.
Families attending are urged to use extra caution when crossing Country Club Road and watch for passing traffic.
The free event offers children an opportunity to enjoy Halloween activities while meeting the officers and emergency personnel who serve the Eugene community.
