Eugene Police respond to suspicious weapon report at South Eugene school
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department responded at 11:33 a.m. after receiving a report of a possible firearm on campus at South Eugene.
Officers immediately arrived and conducted a full, systematic search of the school building.
After clearing all areas, police confirmed that no weapon had actually been seen or located.
Authorities said the situation appeared to be a false alarm or misinterpretation of suspicious circumstances rather than an actual armed threat.
Some officers remained on scene afterward to maintain a visible presence and ensure continued safety monitoring while operations stabilized.
No injuries were reported, and normal activity was expected to resume following the investigation.
