Eugene police investigate fatal bicycle and vehicle crash on River Road near Rosetta Avenue
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation team is continuing to investigate a fatal crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle that occurred Saturday morning on River Road.
Officers responded at approximately 8:39 a.m. to the area near River Road and Rosetta Avenue following reports of a collision between a bicyclist and a Dodge Ram. Authorities said the bicyclist, identified as 61-year-old David Winston Morris, was pronounced deceased as a result of the crash.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, described as a man in his 50s, was also involved in the incident. Additional details regarding the driver’s condition or potential citations have not been released.
Following the crash, River Road between Lindgren Lane and Rosetta Avenue was closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene. The roadway reopened around 2 p.m., according to officials.
The investigation remains ongoing under case number 26-06522.
