Eugene Springfield Fire crews contain early morning fire near downtown Eugene, prevent spread to nearby coffee shop
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded early Friday morning to a structure fire near downtown Eugene, successfully preventing the flames from spreading to a nearby coffee shop, according to officials.
At approximately 5:21 a.m. on May 2, 2026, crews were dispatched to a reported fire near Vero Coffee shop.
Firefighters from Station 1 arrived quickly and found a working fire in a detached garage structure that is used as an office space by Pearl Day Spa.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control on the exterior of the building, stopping it from spreading to the adjacent coffee shop.
Officials said the rapid response helped limit damage to the converted garage and its contents.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
