Eugene Springfield Fire opens applications for 15th annual young women’s fire camp

Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire is now accepting applications for its 15th Annual Young Women’s Fire Camp, scheduled for June 22–26, 2026.

Interested female-identifying youth between the ages of 16 and 19 can apply online from March 1 through May 1. Sixteen participants will be selected for the free, week-long day camp.

The program offers a hands-on introduction to firefighting, emergency medical services, and related fields, while promoting personal growth, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Participants will be issued firefighting gear and engage in physically challenging activities designed to build self-confidence and resilience.

The Young Women’s Fire Camp has received recognition for its commitment to equity and inclusion, earning the 2021 Community Equity & Inclusion Award from the International City/County Management Association.

Applications are available on the Eugene Springfield Fire website under the Training dropdown by selecting Young Women’s Fire Camp.
