Eugene police officer injured and patrol vehicles damaged during pursuit near game day traffic
Eugene, OR – On November 14, 2025, at approximately 3:05 p.m., Eugene Police Department officers attempted to stop a reckless driver operating a Ford F-150 near Valley River Center. The driver failed to yield, creating a danger to the public and prompting a pursuit involving multiple EPD units.
During the pursuit, two patrol vehicles were damaged, and one officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries, receiving treatment at a local hospital. The suspect vehicle continued eastbound toward Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, encountering heavy game day traffic. A passenger exited the moving vehicle and fled on foot but was quickly detained by officers.
At approximately 3:13 p.m., officers executed a forcible vehicle stop near MLK Boulevard and Garden Way, resulting in damage to a third patrol vehicle. The 46-year-old male driver and a second passenger were detained at the scene, with the driver transported to Eugene Police Headquarters for further investigation.
The incident remains under active investigation, and charges are pending. Eugene Police thanked the public for their patience during the traffic disruptions.
