Eugene, OR – Eugene Police arrested multiple individuals for driving under the influence in separate incidents across the city.

On the morning of September 14, officers responded to the 1500 block of Fetters Loop after reports of a man unresponsive in a Subaru Forester that was stopped in the roadway with the engine running. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Brennen Andrew Babbhacket, did not respond to attempts to wake him. Officers eventually unlocked the vehicle using a second set of keys, and Babbhacket awoke as the door was being opened.

He removed his foot from the brake, causing the Subaru to roll forward and crash into a patrol vehicle. He then continued driving toward an officer, who broke the window with an ASP baton. Babbhacket stopped and was taken into custody. After further investigation, he was charged with DUII, criminal mischief in the first degree, and reckless driving. He was also cited for driving without operating privileges.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on September 13, officers were dispatched to the Grocery Outlet parking lot on River Road after reports of an erratic driver who may have struck a parked vehicle. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Samantha Arlene Romero, was found in a Toyota Tacoma. Following an investigation, she was charged with DUII and reckless driving.

Earlier that same day, at 1:03 p.m., callers and medics reported a driver running red lights and failing to maintain his lane. Officers located the vehicle, a Toyota Rav4, near W. 11th Avenue and Chambers Street and stopped the driver, identified as 39-year-old Christopher James Wickman. Wickman resisted officers during his arrest and caused damage to a patrol car after hitting his head against a body panel. He also spit inside the vehicle and later in a holding cell.

A stun gun was discovered in his vehicle. Wickman was lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of DUII, reckless driving, felon in possession of a restricted weapon, resisting arrest, criminal mischief in the first degree, and two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree.
