Eugene Springfield Fire participates in 2025 9/11 Stair Climb at Autzen Stadium
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire announced that its members returned from the 2025 9/11 Stair Climb at Autzen Stadium, where they joined fellow participants in honoring the lives lost during the September 11 attacks.
The event began with a color guard presentation, music from the Lane County Pipes and Drums, and remarks from speakers who reflected on the significance of the day. A video presentation brought attendees back to the events of September 11, offering context for those who were not alive when it occurred.
Participants climbed in groups, beginning with members of the military, followed by police, and then firefighters. Along the climb, timeline markers reminded participants of the unfolding events of that day. Many climbers carried photos of fallen responders clipped to their shirts, symbolically bringing them along for one more climb.
Organizers and participants emphasized the shared commitment to fulfill a promise to never forget.
