Eugene Police Department reminds drivers to prioritize school zone and bus safety
Eugene, OR – As students return to school, the Eugene Police Department is urging drivers to be extra cautious around buses and young pedestrians.
Officials emphasized several safety measures: stop when school bus red lights are flashing, never pass a stopped bus with its stop arm extended, slow down in school zones and neighborhoods, and allow children extra time to cross streets safely.
The department noted that a few moments of patience can make a significant difference in keeping the community’s children safe during the school year.
