Propane leak shuts down section of Danebo during emergency response in west Eugene

Eugene, OR – Danebo Avenue between Roosevelt Boulevard and West 11th Avenue was closed to traffic Monday morning as emergency crews responded to a hazardous materials situation involving a railcar propane leak.
Eugene Police, along with Eugene-Springfield Fire and specialists from the propane company, were on the scene working to secure the area and contain the leak.
The incident prompted a temporary shutdown of a major traffic corridor in west Eugene, causing delays and rerouted traffic during the morning commute.
Authorities urged the public to avoid the area while the response was underway. By mid-afternoon, officials confirmed that the situation had been stabilized and normal traffic flow had resumed.
No injuries were reported, and there was no immediate threat to nearby businesses or residences, according to public safety officials. The cause of the leak remains under investigation.
